This post is all about London’s pretty pink cupcake cafe, Peggy Porschen Belgravia.

The Pretty Pink Cafe

In March of 2020, I dined at Peggy Porschen Belgravia while traveling abroad with my friend Bridgette (@tc.cats_meow) and her husband Brian (@thestorey), who captured all the lovely images on today’s blog! Bridgette and I both love cupcakes, gram-worthy experiences, and the color PINK, so of course, Peggy Porschen’s pastel pink cafe was on top of our list of London to-do’s! If you plan to visit, there are two locations, one in Chelsea, and the one that we visited in Belgravia.

Atmosphere

You can spot Peggy’s pink shop in full bloom halfway down the block. The front windows are decked in faux flower wreaths and garlands that change out with the seasons; the spring display we experienced featured giant golden goose eggs and all-white gardening equipment peeping through the florals. Pink & gold stanchions lead you up two gold-embellished stairs to the iconic corner-entrance door. The tables out front were thoughtfully equipped with pink lap blankets that hung on the back of each chair, given the chilly temperatures!

Step inside and the decor was absolutely charming: white chandeliers, fairy light garlands, and faux flowers blooming out of watering pails on the walls. Sparkly white bunny statues wearing bow-tied gingham ribbons decorated the windows and shelves for Easter. We settled in at a table by a wall decorated with seed packets, each carrying faux flowers.

Sweets

I ordered the ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ Chocolate & Raspberry cupcake and it was a work of art! A Belgian chocolate sponge cupcake filled with raspberry preserve, perfectly iced with a pink meringue buttercream frosting, then topped with a fresh raspberry, a pale pink rose petal, and a a handmade sugar ‘wax seal’ with a delicate rose embossing. The final textures and details: shiny edible pearls and dainty confetti-like sprinkles.

The menu had a decent variety: the usual suspects like “red velvet” and “cookies & cream”, unique flavors like “Sea Salt Caramel & Popcorn.” and even seasonal specials like “Lemon & Elderflower.” Prices ranged from about 5-7L (roughly $7-8+) per cupcake.

Anything Jules says…

So on the real this place is an Instagramer’s DREAM! Tons of flowers, incredible attention to detail, and picture perfect food. Beauty, of course, comes at a price: the cupcakes were refrigerated and frankly, cold frosting is not my favorite. The cupcake wasn’t bad, but considering the price I was expecting more- more filling, more moistness, more flavor! Beautiful place for a photo, but the taste wasn’t all there for me.

anything goes!

I am definitely a converse and dresses kind of girl! -and even if that’s not typically your style, you can’t deny denim and converse just go together. As for the twinnning pink gear- Bridgette & I went shopping at a London H&M and we both naturally gravitated towards a few similar pieces, so of course we had to match for a day!

No idea where the overall dress or crochet headband were from but I’ve found some similar options on Amazon. These nude fleece-lined leggings were the star of this trip, I actually ordered two pairs on Amazon right before we left so I’d be able to wear all my favorite dresses to London, even in the cold weather!
